Trying Something New: Mented Cosmetics
I’m a creature of habit when it comes to most things and this includes my choice of brands I gravitate to for foundations. To my defense, it has always been difficult to find shades that match my skin tone perfectly and so over the years I’ve stuck with the same brands. In the pursuit of wanting to shop with more black owned beauty brands coupled with being intrigued with the many new brands on the market, I decided to try Mented Cosmetics.
My must haves for foundation are pretty simple I’d say….
Cannot be heavy.
Has to match my complexion. (I prefer not to have to mix shades.)
It needs to have a natural effect on my skin.
What I love most about shopping for foundations with Mented was the fact that you can order a sample pack to determine your perfect shade before actually taking the leap. I loved this option because I didn’t have to make a guess before actually purchasing. The shade D10 was a perfect match and I also decided to purchase the lose setting powered in Deep/Rich. By the way, shipping was also super fast.
It’s been a month since I’ve given their products a try and we have a winner on our hands. The application is smooth. I love that the foundation stick doesn’t take up too much space in my purse if I choose to throw it in there. It’s light on my skin and I’ve survived many photoshoots outside in the Houston heat. I also love their branding.
All in all, I’m a happy customer and I look forward to purchasing more products in the near future.
