This Christmas

I woke up this morning full of gratitude.

I made sure to get down on my knees and give thanks to God for His Son, for health and strength, and to just be alive and well during these times.

Unlike previous years there will be no big family gathering or large feast. Instead it’s my parents and I enjoying each other’s company and I have no complaints about it. I just had my second (and last) slice of apply pie and my heart and belly are full.

Throughout this year and even as of late leading up to Christmas, I’ve thought so much about who God is and where I’d be without His grace and mercy. When I think about the birth of Jesus Christ and how His life would change what eternity looks like for all of us, I can’t help but feel gratitude and even a sense of relief.

For unto us a child is born, unto us a son is given, and the government will be upon His shoulders. And He will be called Wonderful Counselor, Mighty God, Everlasting Father, and Prince of Peace. Isaiah 9:6

I realized a long time ago that the greatest gift my parents have ever given me in this life was introducing me to Jesus Christ. He indeed is a Wonderful Counselor, Mighty God, Everlasting Father, and Prince of Peace, literally!

This Christmas, I am reminded that without God, I am nothing. Without the grace of God, there would be no hope for me. Without the favor of God, I wouldn’t be where I am today.

God is good and everything we truly need in this life can be found in Him and Him alone.

Merry CHRISTmas!
